stewardship
the heart of our purpose - protecting sustainable climbing access through conservation
We’re grateful to Access Fund and Arc’teryx for partnering with WyoClimbers this year to make these projects possible!
ICF is not only a gathering to celebrate climbing and community, but to care for the spaces we enjoy recreating in year around. We hope you’ll consider investing a little time in one of our stewardship projects to give back.
Powered by Our Partners
None of our stewardship work could happen without the continuous support and cooperation of our local land managers. We owe a HUGE thanks to the US Forest Service!

Restoration Round-Ups at the OK Corral
Thursday, July 9: 9 AM – 12 PM
Sunday, July 12: 12 PM – 4 PM
WHAT: OK Corral is one of Lander's most popular climbing areas – which also means it's one of the most impacted. Years of foot traffic have created a tangle of social trails and a few too many kid-built (or perhaps dog-designed?) stick forts. We're partnering with the Access Fund and Arc'teryx to do something about it.
Over two stewardship days during ICF, we'll be working to:
Close and rehabilitate social trails that have developed off the main approach.
Remove wayward cairns, stick structures, and other visible signs of visitor impact.
Help restore the area to a more natural and sustainable state.
WHO: Anyone – including you!
A festival ticket is not required to register for Stewardship Days. And don't count yourself out if you're not into heavy lifting or long hikes; the approach from parking is minimal, and we'll have a variety of tasks to accomplish ranging in physical intensity. We welcome all interested volunteers and believe that there's a meaningful job for every body and ability level!
WHAT TO BRING: Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes to work in, come rain or shine! Bring your own drinking water – and more of it than you think; keep in mind that we'll be working at elevation. Pack a pair of work gloves if you've got 'em, but we'll also have some to share. Any other needed tools will be provided along with instruction and from our team leaders!
WHERE: The OK Corral crag, which is about a 30-minute drive from Lander.
Carpooling is encouraged; we'll meet at the Lions Shelter in City Park at 8:30 AM on Thursday and 11:30 AM on Sunday to caravan up to the crag together. If you prefer to drive directly to the OK Corral (main Wild Iris parking area), meet us there by 9 AM on Thursday and 12 PM on Sunday.
REGISTRATION: Please register below to help us plan tools and group sizes accordingly. Plus, volunteers will be entered to win an Arc'teryx harness or pack!
Join WyoClimbers, Access Fund, and Arc’teryx for a morning of stewardship on Thursday, July 9 from 9 AM – 12 PM!
Meet at City Park to carpool (9 AM) or at Wild Iris main parking area (by 9:30 AM).
Join WyoClimbers, Access Fund, and Arc’teryx for an afternoon of stewardship on Sunday, July 12 from 12 PM – 4 PM!
Meet at City Park to carpool at 12 PM, or just be at Wild Iris main parking area by 12:30 PM.
Can’t make it these days but still want to help out?
