What is the International Climbers’ Festival?

The first International Climbersʼ Festival was held in 1994, founded by Todd Skinner and a small group of climbers in Lander, Wyoming. What began as a grassroots gathering of friends united by a love of climbing has grown into an annual event drawing hundreds of attendees. Still, it remains rooted in its original spirit: a celebration of climbing, community, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Wind River Basin.

Each July, climbers gather for clinics, stewardship projects, and community events. Beyond the crag, the festival connects visitors with Landerʼs small businesses, artists, and rich Western heritage, creating an experience grounded in both place and purpose.

The festival is produced by WyoClimbers (Central Wyoming Climbers' Alliance), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Proceeds directly fund year-round stewardship, educational, and community outreach efforts that aim to protect sustainable climbing access in Central Wyoming for future generations.
