Ananda Presents: Pilates for Balanced Strength & Better Climbing w/Meghan Lucas

with Meghan Lucas, Ananda Yoga: If you've ever been *just* out of reach of the next hold, or struggled to keep your hips into the wall, or maybe get a heel hook you can't quite rock up and over, Pilates is the cross-training workout for you. Pilates builds stabilizing core strength from the inside out by targeting deep postural muscles, and will improve your end range of motion strength. The subtleties of each exercise will harness your focus and improve your coordination. It's this ability to engage, stabilize, and move with specificity that will aid your climbing success and help prevent common climbing injuries. Suitable for all levels, though experience with Pilates is helpful. At Wild Iris, we will do a full mat Pilates sequence, then move to the rock to practice specific techniques focusing on what was learned on the mat. 15, 30, and full mat sequences will be provided for a consistent Pilates and climbing practice at home
